Mojo Bowl Food Truck
When you think “food truck” what’s the first thing that comes to mind? Probably some image of greasy fried food. Even with the recent gourmet food truck craze, I'm sure healthy food isn’t the first thing that comes to mind when thinking about food trucks. Now, Phoenix food truck Mojo Bowl is changing that with healthy smoothies, soups and salads. Scott, the owner of Mojo Bowl is a tri-athlete and created his food truck out of a passion for good food that fuels your body.
It’s pretty easy to spot the Mojo Bowl truck, painted bright yellow and often adorned with colorful fiber optic strings of light, Scott usually has upbeat music playing. I dare you not to start smiling and tapping your feet while waiting for your order.
On my last visit to Mojo Bowl, I had the Green Monster Smoothie. My dining companions were jealous at how delicious my smoothie was. Made with fro-yo, pineapple, mango, coconut and spinach this smoothie was not only refreshing but filling too. In fact, I could use a Green Monster right about now…
Oh and if you are a vegetarian or vegan Mojo Bowl can accommodate you on many of the menu items.
Make sure to follow Mojo Bowl on Facebook and Twitter to find out where they’ll be next.
The food truck craze has exploded in Phoenix with many opportunities to eat from these rolling gourmet “restaurants." We’ve eaten from many of the food trucks throughout Phoenix and wanted to highlight them individually for you. You can find the food trucks on a regular basis at the Downtown Phoenix Public Market on Wednesday evenings from 4-8pm, Fridays from 11am – 1:30pm and on Saturdays from 8am – 1pm. At the North Central Farmers’ Market on Saturdays from 9am – 2pm, Fridays at The Phoenix New Times building at 12th Street/Jefferson from 11am – 2pm, and the Third Thursday of the Month at the Whole Foods Raintree location from 11:30am – 1pm. There are always many more opportunities that you can find by following your favorite truck individually or by following the Phoenix Street Coalition. Bon Appétit!
